Fire Stations in Trondheim

 

The facades of four new fire stations in Trondheim are part of a public art commission. The aim of the commission was to create a unified look to all stations, while giving each stations a distinct character and identity. Colours were selected as the foremost mean. All the stations have been given a colour which associate to the specific function of each station and clarifies the stations’ character. An ornamental border, inspired by the fire department’s own label, are placed on all stations. The idea is to bring in an element that gives identity and act as a focal point for passers-by.
